Every now and then, something happens to make you sit back and reflect. People do strange things, say strange things, and then wonder why they’re not taken more seriously.
What does it mean to find someone preaching sermons, lecturing, and judging the lives of others while the entire time, they are behaving in an amoral and less than loving manner?
I’m baffled by the various stories that I hear and have witnessed about what goes on when the church doors close. I’m more baffled by those who witness, accept, and do or say nothing about it.
I think I’ve figured out why preachers of today simply turn a blind eye to blatant wrong doing in the church; things like members attacking members, hijacking/preying on children, members whose sole purpose is to gossip, judge, and outshine other members.
The first - They assume that there are more people who don’t have an issue than who do so they cater to the perceived majority.
The second – Their behavior is deplorable as well so to keep from drawing attention to their own
short-comings, they must ignore those of others…..even if the shortcomings are far-reaching and send souls astray.
The third – They just don’t know what to do! And why is that if they’re truly called by God, since HE directs our path? HE didn’t send Moses out with no instructions or direction on how to deal with the Israelites and their various issues.
I know, I know – someone will say that no one’s perfect; however, if you’ve decided that you’ve been called by God – God will give you the strength to walk like Christ. And when an injustice is witnessed, even Christ himself turned the place out.
If the mindset of the leader trickles down as is often said, what happens when the leader (preacher) forgets to follow the ONE TRUE LEADER?
These are Just My Thoughts~
